New Year Resolution #1 Attend more live events.

Well starting as I mean to go on - like determined gym goer in January - I went to my first event of the year at Magnum Photos Gallery in London, Alec Soth in conversation with Michael Mack

I confess that unlike some I’m not a passionate follower of Soth’s work. I certainly get his significance. It was interesting to hear him talk in a self-deprecatory way about his ascent into recognition, his attitude to photographing people and to publishing work.

For some reason I was the first person to raise a question. I think the reverential silence got to me! He had mentioned colour being a richer medium for him for story telling rather than black and white. I couldn’t let that go.
