Unlocked

I'm proud to be a member of my local London Independent Photography (LIP) group in Ealing and we used our 2021 annual exhibition as an opportunity to engage with local communities.

Our theme was Ealing Unlocked, a collection of images representing experiences of the COVID pandemic. Our location was the facade of Ealing police station. Using that visibility to engage people in an issue still making an impact on our lives was an important objective for the project.

With the support of LIP I’ve worked with two local community groups using the photographs from the show as a starting point to reflect on people's own experiences over the previous eighteen months. It was powerful to see how the images tapped into memories and emotions in ways we had no expectation of.

We continue to use this project to stimulate reflection on our times so feel free to contact me with any ideas.
