still breathing

August 12th 2023

I can't escape the shadow of the pandemic. Perhaps I'm too sensitised to it with my ongoing project but references and symbols keep appearing in front of me.

I was amazed to see the striking cover of Congo in Conversation in a bookshop at a great arts space in Marseille's La Friche.

It's a collaborative reportage project with Congolese journalists and photographers, curated by Finbarr O’Reilly and Fondation Carmignac,. Over six months of the pandemic, they documented the human, social and ecological challenges their country was dealing with at this time. This scope is really impressive and the collaborative dimension makes it even more powerful. It's a privilege to include it in my ongoing survey.
