park life

August 17th 2023

This year's exhibition for my local photography group is another opportunity to present work outdoors to a mass audience. It's not the scale of Ealing Unlocked on the facade of the borough's police station but still a logistical endeavour!

We've been commissioned by a local park, Blondin, to reflect how the local community uses the space. We'll then display the work in an outdoor gallery in the park. It appeals to me as a local project for local people. I also like the chance for members of the group to work collectively on a project but contribute their own take and style to enrich it. I've stepped out of my comfort zone to go take a documentary approach to follow people that use the pavilion in the park for various activities. The two I've landed on are puppy training and Morris Dancing. Not at the same time, obvs ;)

Looking forward to the results!
